Satamatics announces partnership with Dilupe for mobile
data terminals and future co-development
Joint investment to focus on
pre-defined and free text messaging in fleet management
applications and mobile tracking markets
Tewkesbury, UK - 12th September 2007: Satamatics, the
global provider of satellite-telematics, asset tracking and
monitoring services, has signed a long-term contract with
Belgium's data terminal manufacturer Dilupe. Both companies
will promote each others products and Satamatics will have
exclusive rights to the DMT-70, a new data terminal designed
by Dilupe to integrate into Satamatics' range of Inmarsat
D+ and IsatM2M satellite terminals.
Satamatics is currently enhancing its
turnkey solutions and part solutions for its global customer
base of Value Added Resellers and Distributors. Dilupe's
operator terminals will give the company an important
building-block for fleet management solutions and other
applications where text messaging, such as pre-defined
status and free form messages, are crucial.
Kevin Killian, Sales Director of
Dilupe, commented: "Working with Satamatics has proved
that robust operation doesn't have to be costly, our latest
terminals combine superbly with Satamatics' terminals and
infrastructure to give satellite messaging a new and rugged
face." He continued, "This is a long-term
relationship, we fully expect to be developing terminals
with Satamatics for many years to come."
Dilupe's DMT terminals, which comprise of
tough keypads and displays, have matched Satamatics'
satellite modems in terms of reliability and performance in
previous deployments. Dilupe's data terminals provide very
reliable tracking and fleet management applications,
interfacing with operators and drivers in a variety of
challenging environments. In developing these solutions
Dilupe and Satamatics have co-developed, and thoroughly
tested, interface software, which is re-configurable to meet
any future customer requirements.
Peter Chisholm, CEO of Satamatics,
commented: "Satellite monitoring is becoming a
mainstream technology for many land and maritime markets.
Satamatics is providing many parts of the technology that
make up the solutions including the communications and
satellite-based terminals. Bringing the Dilupe DMT-70 to
bear on these markets will provide our partners and
customers with a text messaging product that is totally
integrated with our network and hardware, cutting the time
and development costs generally necessary in delivering
similar functionality."
